AccuScreen CEO Kevin Connell will be one of the featured speakers at the Greater Pensacola SHRM’s Annual Legal Conference to be held in Pensacola on May 14th. Connell will be speaking on the topic of social media screening and the dangers and risks posed to employers who use social media background checks in the hiring process. In March, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) held hearings on employer’s use of social media in the workplace, and at the state level, twelve states have laws that place specific restrictions on employers who are tempted to use social media in the screening of prospective employees.
